PRoject
Following a company name change from New Millennium to Codence, the team partnered with 9thWonder to create a new brand identity and responsive website that better reflected its expertise in custom FileMaker development and business intelligence solutions. The goal was to modernize the brand, improve search visibility, and create a digital experience that clearly communicated the company's value while driving qualified leads.
As Lead Designer, I led the creative direction for the brand identity and website redesign, developing a cohesive visual system and user experience from concept through launch.
Challenge
One of the biggest challenges was bringing Codence's software products and consulting services together into a single, cohesive website. The experience needed to clearly communicate both offerings while helping potential clients understand how they worked together to solve complex business problems.
A competitive audit also revealed an opportunity to differentiate the brand. While many competitors relied on dark color palettes, futuristic graphics, and highly technical visual language, I intentionally developed a brighter, more approachable design system with custom illustrations, rounded forms, and a welcoming user experience that helped Codence stand apart while maintaining credibility.
Establishing the Brand
Before designing the website, I developed a messaging guide that established the brand's voice, visual direction, and design principles. This foundation ensured consistency across the website, marketing materials, and future digital assets.
Designing the Experience
Building on the new brand identity, I designed a responsive website that unified Codence's products and consulting services into a single experience. Clear information architecture, thoughtful content hierarchy, and intuitive interactions guided users toward the actions most important to the business.
Interactive prototypes gave stakeholders an opportunity to test navigation, responsive layouts, and key interactions early, streamlining reviews and creating a smoother transition into development.
Collaboration & Execution
I partnered closely with developers throughout implementation, providing responsive specifications, interaction guidance, and detailed design documentation to ensure the final build remained true to the design vision.
After development, I led multiple rounds of quality assurance across devices and breakpoints, refining the experience before launch to ensure consistency and usability across the entire site.
The website launched in 2019, and many of the core design principles established during the redesign continue to shape Codence's online presence today.

Responsive Design System
After establishing the homepage, I expanded the design system across interior pages and responsive layouts. Interactive prototypes built in Sketch and InVision allowed stakeholders to experience navigation, hover states, responsive behavior, and page transitions before development began.
Extending the Brand
Beyond the website, I applied the identity system across additional touchpoints including marketing graphics, business cards, and social media assets, ensuring a consistent brand experience across digital and print.
Throughout the project, I collaborated closely with strategists, developers, and the client using an agile sprint process that encouraged rapid iteration, feedback, and continuous refinement from concept through launch.
